Insulgard Forced Entry Glazing Materials

Because they’re transparent and unobtrusive, Insulgard glazing solutions are manufactured to protect windows and doors without detracting from the design and function of your structure. And unlike roll-down gates and grills, forced entry glazing always remains in place, so you are always protected.

Overview of Forced Entry Products

FORCEPROTECT offers three categories of glazing solutions for protection against forced entry.

  • LEXGARD™: LEXGARD laminated polycarbonate is an all-plastic product available for lower levels of ballistic protection. It’s ideal for interiors, easily fabricated, and scratch-resistant.
  • SURE-GARD®: SURE-GARD glass-clad polycarbonate is designed to prevent various levels of forced entry. Options include tinted glass, transparent mirror, reflective glass, and wire glass.
  • FIRE-GARD®: FIRE-GARD glass-clad polycarbonate is not only forced-entry resistant but also fire-rated for up to an hour, depending upon the surface material and solution you choose.

FORCEPROTECT forced entry glazing products can be combined with other Insulgard security solutions to protect people and assets in retail establishments, banks, convenience stores, data centers, community shelters, corporate offices, and entertainment arenas.

Compliance and Regulations

Because Insulgard FORCEPROTECT glazing products meet and exceed third-party testing standards, you can feel confident that doors and windows resist unwanted entry. We test and rate each product in laboratory conditions to determine protection levels according to standards set by ASTM, WMFL, and other reputable industry agencies and organizations.

Understanding the Need for Forced Entry Products

Nearly every type of building requires some level of protection against forced entry. Doors and windows are typically the first entry points, and Insulgard FORCEPROTECT glazing products fortify them to reduce the risk of home break-ins, store break-ins, and bank break-ins.

Types of Break-Ins

FORCEPROTECT glazing solutions are customized to meet your facility’s unique needs and the type of break-ins you’re more likely to encounter.

Brute Force

In a brute force attack, the would-be attacker attempts to ram, strike, or kick in a door or window with their body or a heavy object like an axe, crowbar, or sledgehammer. Insulgard FORCEPROTECT glazing is made to withstand different levels of force.

Ballistics

Attackers also use ballistics to demolish entry points and gain access to interior spaces. Insulgard bullet-resistant glazing is available in several levels of protection and materials, depending on your facility’s needs.

FAQs

What are the most vulnerable entry points in a typical building?

Doors and windows are the most vulnerable and common entry points in most buildings. Insulgard products fortify exterior and interior entry points against wind, impact threats, forced entry, and ballistics.

How do forced entry products differ from standard security measures?

Can forced entry products be customized to fit unique architectural designs?

Yes. You’ve probably encountered Insulgard security products at your bank, school, or favorite shops without even noticing. Customized to blend in seamlessly with the look and feel of your space, Insulgard windows, doors, framing systems, transactions windows, and glazing materials are attractive and functional.
