Harness the Superior Qualities of Acrylic

BULLETBLOCK acrylic sheets meet the rigorous standards set forth by Underwriters Laboratory, a global leader in applied safety science. The UL752 specification means that our bullet-resistant acrylic sheets offer protection against penetration and spalling (the fragmentation of the barrier). We offer acrylic sheets in UL levels 1 – 3, providing trusted protection against a variety of handguns.

Some of the advantages offered by our bullet-resistant acrylic sheets include:

  • Reliable impact resistance
  • Exceptional optical properties
  • Water, electrical and UV resistance
  • Durability
  • Ease of fabrication

Our products are trusted by architects, glazing contractors, building owners and others who need building environments that are both highly secure and highly functional.

The Many Uses of Bullet-Resistant Acrylic

Acrylic bullet resistant materials can protect from ballistic threats in a wide range of environments, including banks, loan shops, police stations, medical institutions, government buildings and more.

Bullet-resistant acrylic, sometimes referred to as acrylic bullet-resistant glass or bulletproof acrylic, is a versatile material that can be used to construct walls, doors, windows, side lights, transaction windows and other surfaces that must be both transparent and bullet-resistant.

The superior optical qualities of acrylic make it an attractive option for businesses and organizations that need a secure environment with sharp and unimpeded visual clarity between customer and employee.

FAQs About Bullet Resistant Acrylic

What is the difference between bullet-resistant acrylic and bulletproof glass?

A bullet resistant acrylic sheet is lighter than bullet-resistant glass. It is also typically less expensive and easier to fabricate than glass. Compared to conventional glass, bullet-resistant acrylic is much stronger and durable.

Can an acrylic sheet stop a bullet?

Our BULLETBLOCK acrylic sheets are UL rated up to level 3, meaning they can stop penetration from ammunition, including 9MM, .357 magnum and .44 magnum bullets. If your threat assessment suggests you need higher level protection, we offer other bulletproof products that provide protection at the higher UL levels.

Is bullet-resistant acrylic customizable?

BULLETBLOCK acrylic sheets can be cut, drilled, routed and otherwise modified to suit a number of practical applications and aesthetic considerations.

Is bullet-resistant acrylic expensive?

Considering the financial toll of theft and violent crime, customers find the advantages of bullet-resistant acrylic are well worth the initial investment. Having a secure environment in which to conduct sales and other transactions can help deter theft and promote business, while protecting employees and assets from outside threats.

Can bullet-resistant acrylic be used outdoors?

Bullet Resistant Acrylic’s include UV inhibitors to prevent from yellowing and are resistant to water so some exterior applications are possible. However, because they are plastic, bullet resistant acrylics are not recommended for applications where there is extended exposure to weathering.
