Precision Fabrication at Our State-of-the-Art Facility

Our Brighton facility, established in 2002, is equipped with the latest in custom fabrication technology, including multiple CNC routers, computerized saws, and advanced machining tools. These resources allow us to produce the highest quality and tested products tailored to fit seamlessly within the architectural needs of each project. This extensive capability means we don’t rely on outside providers, giving us full control over every stage of fabrication for a highly streamlined and consistent process.

Insulgard’s fabrication capabilities allow us to create products that are not only compliant with stringent security standards but are also crafted to align with each client’s design vision. Working closely with architects and contractors, our in-house engineers can adapt our security features to meet specific project specs so that each product fits perfectly into its intended environment.

Our Bullet-Resistant and Impact-Resistant Products

At Insulgard, we manufacture a comprehensive range of security products designed to protect people and assets in high-risk settings. These products are carefully crafted to meet the security requirements of diverse environments, from schools and hospitals to government buildings and retail facilities.

Our Products Include:

  • Bullet-Resistant Doors, Windows, and Glazing Materials: Built to provide ballistic protection at multiple UL 752 levels, our BULLETBLOCK bullet-resistant doors, windows, and glazing materials are used in settings where ballistic threats are a concern, including law enforcement facilities, banks, and courthouses. We offer customizable options to address specific threat levels, from low-level to high-caliber firearm resistance.
  • Wind and Impact Resistant Systems: Our STORMDEFEND products, including window and door systems, are fabricated to withstand the extreme forces associated with storms, meeting FEMA P-361 and ICC 500 standards. These products are critical for facilities in tornado and hurricane-prone areas, providing life-saving protection in safe rooms and storm shelters.
  • Forced Entry Resistant Doors and Transaction Windows: Designed for durability under high-stress attacks, our FORCEPROTECT product line offers advanced forced-entry resistance. These products are tested to ASTM standards to withstand attempted entry using hand and power tools, making them ideal for high-security locations like correctional facilities, retail establishments, and financial institutions.
  • Counterline Systems and Custom Transaction Windows: Our SAFECHANGE counterline systems include bullet-resistant transaction windows, deal trays, and package passers designed for secure, high-volume environments such as banks and customer service centers. These systems allow for secure transactions and are available in multiple configurations to meet your specific security and architectural needs.

Each of our products can be customized to meet your project’s architectural requirements. Our fabrication process allows for a wide variety of finishes, materials, and configurations, ensuring that your security solutions blend seamlessly with the intended design aesthetic while delivering critical protection.

End-to-End Fabrication and Service

At Insulgard, our fabrication process goes beyond the actual manufacturing. We assist our clients from initial design through to project completion, providing the following services:

Concepts and Prototyping

Our team works closely with you during the concept and prototyping stages to understand your security needs, assess threat risks, and help you select the right product specifications.

Product Testing and Compliance

Rigorous testing is at the core of our fabrication process. Each product is subjected to strict quality and performance tests to ensure compliance with standards like UL 752, ASTM, ICC 500, and FEMA P-361. For instance, our bullet-resistant glazing materials are tested to UL levels 1 through 8, and our impact-resistant systems are tested to withstand high-velocity debris impacts, meeting requirements for EF-5 tornadoes.

Detailed Shop Drawings

We provide precise shop drawings that allow architects and contractors to visualize each product’s placement and integration, facilitating smoother installations and streamlined project timelines.

Fabrication and Assembly

Our in-house fabrication capabilities mean that each product is crafted with meticulous attention to detail and quality. Once fabricated, our assembly process prepares each product for streamlined installation, reducing time and labor costs.

Delivery and Installation Support

Insulgard not only fabricates these products but also offers delivery and installation support. Our team is here to make sure each product is properly installed and fully functional, meeting your project’s security requirements with precision.

Built to Meet the Highest Security Standards

Insulgard is committed to meeting the industry’s highest standards for bullet resistance, impact resistance, and forced entry prevention. Our products comply with a variety of regulatory standards, including:

  • UL 752: This standard for ballistic resistance covers levels 1 through 8, addressing everything from low-velocity handgun threats to high-caliber rifle impacts.
  • ASTM Standards for Forced Entry Resistance: Our FORCEPROTECT line meets rigorous forced-entry standards, such as ASTM F1233 and ASTM F1915, which assess the product’s ability to withstand physical force and the use of hand and power tools.
  • FEMA P-361 and ICC 500: STORMDEFEND products meet FEMA and ICC requirements for tornado and hurricane shelters, including debris impact testing with 2×4 lumber traveling at up to 100 mph.
